Compass Group Equipment Disposal Policy

Do you have old, unused computer hardware that needs to be thrown out?

IMPORTANT: This policy excludes hardware that is under a leasing program as identified by a Compass asset tag pictured below. If there is doubt concerning the lease vs. owned status of hardware, contact ITLeaseAdmin@compass-usa.com for clarification.

Unfortunately, you can’t just toss it in the trash and forget about it. Computers and other electronic equipment contain materials that can be hazardous to the environment when not properly disposed of. In addition, sensitive data and other information can easily get into the wrong hands.

To address this issue, Compass Group has partnered with EPC to safely and securely dispose of company owned computer hardware* that has reached the end of its useful life. EPC was selected due to its commitment to proper data eradication and environmentally sound disposal practices.

All Compass units are required to use this service when disposing of company-owned computer hardware.

To use this service, visit https://htt.compass-usa.com/epc-equipment-disposal/ and enter your information in the correct fields. Once submitted, this will be emailed to the correct contacts.

EPC will provide proper disposal certification to Compass Group. Potential fees, net of any salvage values, will be charged to the originating cost center or house code.

  • Discovery (reporting/audit) – $3.75 per serialized item
  • SecureTrack (hard drive wiping/shredding) – $7.50 per hard drive
  • Disposal – $10.00 per item, $5.00 per small item (POS, modems, etc,), $0.30 per pound for miscellaneous items (docking stations, wires, keyboards, etc.), and $0.50 per pound for oversized items

*This policy excludes any hardware that is currently under a leasing program. Be aware that shipping leased computer hardware via this program will result in permanent data loss.
